An SOP is a vital component of the admission process for universities across the globe. It’s the students’ chance to present themselves beyond their grades and test scores. However, crafting an SOP that is both compelling and grammatically correct can be a daunting task, especially for those whose native language isn’t English.
The Solution: Sofiri & OpenAI Integration
Previously, the Sofiri platform and IQAP clients helped students by asking personalised questions to build their SOPs, exporting the answers in a letter format. Although this method has been effective, we recognised an opportunity to take it one step further.
With our integration with OpenAI, we have leveraged their powerful natural language processing (NLP) technology to enhance the grammar and readability of students’ SOPs. Here’s how it works:
- Personalised Questions: Students continue to answer personalized questions to create their SOP through Sofiri’s platform.
- Automated Grammar Correction: The SOP is sent to OpenAI’s API, where advanced algorithms analyse and correct grammatical errors, enhancing the overall quality without altering the original content.
- Seamless Integration: The corrected SOP is sent back to our system and provided to the student, maintaining the integrity of their original message while ensuring grammatical excellence.
The Future: A Deeper Integration with OpenAI
This integration is just the beginning of our work with OpenAI. Our next step will be to introduce an automatic translation feature, allowing students to write SOPs in their native language, with OpenAI seamlessly translating it into English.
