The three International Welcome Scholarships (IWS, IMA and IHWS) will be open to students from all countries from 2020.
The value for the International Welcome Scholarships will be up to:
International Welcome Scholarship (IWS)
- AU $12,000 for Business and Nursing degrees (Only applicable to those degrees that hold a three year duration. Degrees with a two year duration are eligible for a maximum payment of AU $10,000)
- AU $11,000 for All other degrees (Only applicable to those degrees that hold a four year duration. Degrees with a three year duration are eligible for a maximum payment of AU $9,000)
- 20% for international students residing in Australia at the time of application for 2020 – 2024 intakes
International Merit Award (IMS)
- AU $1,000 for academically-gifted International Welcome Scholarship recipients
International Honours Welcome Scholarship (IHWS)
- AU $10,000 for students looking to study an Honours degree at Murdoch
These scholarships are only for those who are:
International Welcome Scholarship (IWS)
- an international, full fee-paying student;
- starting studies at one of Murdoch’s Western Australian campuses in 2020 – 2024 intakes;
- starting studies in a Murdoch coursework degree (this is a bachelor, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters-by-coursework degree);
- not receiving any other Murdoch scholarship; and
- not subject to any of the exclusions here.
International Merit Award (IMA)
- a recipient of the International Welcome Scholarship;
- commencing at one of Murdoch’s Western Australian campuses in a 2020 – 2024 intake;
- enrolled in a Murdoch coursework degree (this is a bachelor, graduate certificate, graduate diploma or masters-by-coursework degree);
- enrolled in a full-time study load (24 credit points) for the assessed Year of Study (two completed consecutive semester teaching periods);
- achieving a minimum academic result of 3.0 GPA for that assessed Year of Study; and
- not subject to any of the exceptions set out here
International Honours Welcome Scholarship (IHWS)
- an international, full fee paying student;
- starting a one year Honours degree at one of Murdoch’s Western Australia campuses in 2020 – 2024;
- not a recipient of any other Murdoch University fully or partially funded scholarship; and
- not subject to any of the exceptions set out here.
Eligible Courses at Murdoch University
International Welcome Scholarship (IWS)
- All Bachelor degrees available to international students and delivered at one of Murdoch’s Western Australian campus’
- All Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma and Masters by Coursework degrees available to international students and delivered at one of Murdoch’s Western Australian campus
International Honours Welcome Scholarship (IHWS)
- Honours in any field.
To be considered for a scholarship at Murdoch University, applications for entry to an eligible course need to be submitted to the International Admissions office by your education expert at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester that the student intends to commence their studies at Murdoch.
How to apply for a scholarship at Murdoch University?
There is no scholarship application process. An eligible student simply needs to accept their Murdoch University offer to be considered for an International Welcome Scholarship.
If you’re eligible for the International Merit Award, the scholarship team from Murdoch University will review your GPA for the Year of Study after the release of results each semester and notify you if successful.
Each scholarship works as a partial fee-reduction, therefore payments will be deducted from each semester’s tuition fee, for the duration of the scholarship.
